People from various backgrounds, including youth, women, children, men, political and social leaders, teachers, students, and individuals associated with different schools of thought, participated in large numbers.

Carrying banners, placards, and flags, they chanted slogans like “Curse on drugs, love life, reject drugs, eradicate drugs, save the youth, build a drug-free society.” Key figures at the rally were Ibrahim Hyderi Town Chairman Nazir Ahmed Bhutto and Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum Chairman Mehran Ali Shah.

During their speeches, they highlighted the detrimental impact of drug addiction on future generations. They expressed concern about the coastal settlements, where drug use threatens the livelihood and well-being of the youth. They emphasised the alarming increase in drug addiction, attributed to unemployment and a lack of quality education, causing mental pressure and drug vulnerability. The leaders also pointed out drug peddling has become prevalent, with drug mafias operating in various locations. They acknowledged the collaboration of a few individuals within law enforcement agencies who enable drug dealers.
