The Telangana fisheries department, on Saturday, said that it will soon introduce solar powered boats for fishermen using rafts to catch fishes in deep reservoirs across state.
Pittala Ravinder, chairman of the Telangana State Fishermen Cooperative Federation said a discussion was held with experts from the BITS Pilani Institute in Hyderabad to work out technical modalities on solar powered boats. BITS Pilani scientists assured that they will provide technical support for the innovative experiment, he said.
