The Chinese ambassador sought Bangladesh’s cooperation in the initiative during a meeting with Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter.

Wen said China is interested in the preservation, processing, and export of seafood. “Private sector businesses want to establish seafood processing plants and export fish to China because there is a demand in China for Bangladeshi seafood, including shrimp, crabs, and mud eels,” he said.

The ambassador also mentioned that there are opportunities to export jute, jute products, and mangoes from Bangladesh. “Since there is significant demand for these products in the Chinese market, Bangladesh can take advantage of this export opportunity.”

Adviser Farida said through the continued strengthening of the relationship between Bangladesh and China, both countries can work together to facilitate the duty-free export of Bangladeshi products to the Chinese market.
