Taiwanese authorities have seized several Chinese fishing boats and detained nine crew members for illegally entering Taiwan’s waters.
The vessels were intercepted by the Taiwanese Coast Guard during routine patrols, amid heightened tensions between Taiwan and China.
The crew members are being held for questioning, and the boats have been impounded pending further investigation.
Taiwan has been increasing maritime security efforts to curb illegal fishing and assert its territorial claims, particularly as relations with China remain strained.
This incident adds to the ongoing disputes in the region over fishing rights and sovereignty.
