The Indian Coast Guard conducts various activities including Community interaction on Swachhta awareness, Tree plantation drive and Cleanliness drive at different places in Port Blair under the govt’s Swachhta Pakhwada. Indian Coast Guard Ship Durgabai Deshmukh undertook a special Community interaction with the local fishing community at Guptapara, Port Blair towards Swachhta awareness. Local fishermen were encouraged to carry out self clean up drive and strive for cleaner surroundings. Coast Guard Air Enclave Port Blair conducted a cleanup drive cum awareness campaign at Marina Park area. Posters and placards were displayed to educate every citizen with an aim to instill the importance of cleaner and greener India. Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (CGWWA) A&N Region along with CG personnel and families conducted a tree plantation drive at pragati path, Panipat Road. More than 100 saplings including medicinal and fruit bearing plants were planted.
