Ghana’s President Mahama, on the last leg of his Thank you tour’ to thank the people in the Greater Accra Region for their contribution during the funeral and burial ceremony of the late President John Atta Mills, has addressed the people of Chorkor in Accra.
In his address, he said fishermen around Chorkor and Jamestown are to benefit from free outboard motors by the end of next week. The micro-finance and small loans centre, MASLOC has also been directed to provide loans to fish mongers in the area to enable them to purchase equipment to facilitate their businesses.
President Mahama said Chorkor is one of the strongholds for fishing in Ghana and as such the government will support the community in their fishing business. He also promised to provide equipment for the fishmongers.
