Authorities have launched a search and rescue operation for two fishermen who have been missing for a week in northern Philippine province of Cagayan, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said today.
The missing fishermen, identified as Rey Crusado, 21; and Winceslao Gimao, 20, failed to return from a fishing venture since Dec. 26, the agency said.
Upon receiving a report from a citizen who had seen the two fishermen, the PCG said that its personnel in Claveria detachment launched a search and rescue operation, but the mission failed to continue due to very rough sea condition.
The PCG said that once the weather permits, operation will continue to look for the missing fishermen.
