Angola’s Minister of Fisheries, Victória de Barros Neto, considered on Tuesday Poland an ideal partner to help the development of this sector at the level of the country, taking into account its technical capacity and huge experience, Angop has learnt.
She said so to press after an audience with the Poland’s under Secretary State for foreign affairs, Beata Stelmach, who started on Monday a three day official visit to Angola.
Moreover, the official said that Poland can help the fisheries sector in matters of marine research, training of cadres and creation of capacities in issues of shipyards.
“Poland is a true partner: It has a lot of capacity in issues of fishing and sea and these capabilities are needed in Angola to develop our fishing sector and marine research, promoting the training of cadres and creation of capacity in matters of shipyards”, she said.
The minister also said that this country has a very famous shipyard worldwide that makes it an international reference, reason why Angola wants to co-operate in the domain of shipyards and take advantage of other added values so as to develop the national fishing sector.
Poland has been funding the fishing academy under construction in Namibe province, whose construction and equipping are already in their second phase.
