The Vanuatu Fishermen Association is giving the government a two week ultimatum to pay outstanding compensation claims of more than one billion vatu to its members.

The VFA has ordered the government to comply by February the 24th or they will go to court. A number of high level committees have been established by Prime Minister Moana Carcasses Kalosil to look into the matter, but Association President Remy Kunuan has dismissed the actions as delay tactics.
