Israeli navy gunboats opened machinegun fire at Palestinian fishermen while fishing off the coast of Gaza on Saturday morning.

Nizar Ayyash, the chairman of the Palestinian fishermen syndicate, said that the gunboats opened fire at dawn on fishing boats off the Central coast of Gaza, PIC reported.

“The shooting did not cause any casualties, but the fishermen were forced to abandon fishing and return to shore,” he added.

The shooting is the latest in a series of Israeli violations of the truce agreement brokered by Egypt between Israel and Palestinian factions.
