Recovery efforts in Vanuatu continue, more than a month since Cyclone Pam whirled in and trashed the place.
The head of Vanuatu’s fisheries department has overseen the distribution of 17 tonnes of fish donated by a local deep sea fishers association.
Kalo Pakoa says the fish will be given free to hospitals and boarding schools, while the rest will be sold to the public at a low price.
But Mr Pakoa says the close shore fisheries industry is still not in a good state.
