The film looks at the growing concern for the future of Lake Victoria Nile Perch Fisheries. The sustainability and the effect on people and biodiversity of the Lake is suffering from massive over fishing. A frightening story told by the Lake people themselves, about an environmental and human disaster happening. The massive extraction happening to meet the demand of the modern export processing factories on the lake edge has resulted in near collapse of the local fishing industry. This is clearly unsustainable and thousands of women around the lake have lost their jobs in marketing and processing of fish. As a result many families have lost a major source of income from catching the fish.
