This document summarizes achievements of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Division to support sustainable marine and inland small-scale and artisanal fisheries governance and development. It reports on progress in implementing the Voluntary Guidelines for Securing Sustainable Small Scale Fisheries in the Context of Food Security and Poverty Eradication (SSF Guidelines) and highlights the contribution of small-scale and artisanal fisheries to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development within the context of the FAO Strategic Framework 2022-2031. Information on the International Year of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture (IYAFA) 2022 is reported in COFI/2022/4.1; complementary information is included in COFI/2022/Inf. 9: Supporting smallscale and artisanal fisheries and in COFI/2022/SBD/10 and COFI/2022/SBD/13.
