Fishermen aboard the Marlin Darlin caught a bit more than they bargained for off the coast of the Dominican Republic.

A 350-pound blue marlin was hooked but had not yet been reeled in when the fishermen got quite a surprise when the big fish found his own way onto the boat!

It took fishermen and members of the boat crew a few minutes to get control of the marlin.

Although the boat crew usually releases its catches back into the ocean, this poor fellow died of self-sustained injuries.

The crew donated the fish to very grateful local fishermen.
