Fisheries Department Commissioner Rama Shankar Naik has said that cultivation of seaweed would generate employment opportunity for coastal communities. Mr. Rama Shankar inspected the seaweed cultivation being taken up by Nagalayanka-based farmer Raghu Sekhar. Interacting with local farmers, Mr. Rama Shankar said that the State government would plan to encourage seaweed cultivation. Mr. Rama Shankar Naik predicted that at least 10,000 people would get livelihood opportunity in the seaweed cultivation along the coastline of the State.
