Four fishermen were travelling in a country boat in Upputeru at Turpupalem when the boat capsized in East Godavari on Friday. According to police, the incident took place when the four fishermen went to Upputeru to lift sand illegally on the early hours. When they lifted the sand and came back to Turpupalem, the country boat overturned at the old bridge and four of them drowned in the main canal. Two of them reached the bank safely while two others unfortunately died in the incident. The deceased Koppadi Satyanarayana and Malladi Satyanarayana belong to Bodasakurru in Allavaram mandal. The police lifted their bodies with the help of cranes.
