Two day training programme for fish farmers was inaugurated by DHO Komri Murtem at Regional High Altitude Fish Seed Farm at Tarin on Wednesday. DHO Murtem exhorted the farmers to avail the opportunity to learn about accurate fish farming, which can become a sustainable economic activity. He highlighted the ‘Stand Up India’ scheme initiated by the Government of India to encourage entrepreneurs, and advised trainee farmers to avail loans under the scheme to develop fisheries that would supplement the demand outside Ziro. Resource persons N K Purkayastha, FO, Mudang Ranka and HK Hazarika, AFOs and Subject Matter Specialist from KVK are providing training on fish pond farm construction, pre and post stocking measures, food and feeding habits of different species and fish pathology. More than 20 farmers from Raga, Ziro, Yachuli and Yazali are attending the training programme.
