This summer has been devastating for wildlife across India. With temperatures soaring past 45 degrees Celsius in at least 37 cities, the extreme heat has led to tragic consequences for countless animals. In Ratlam, numerous birds and bats fell from trees, succumbing to the oppressive heat.

Kerala saw a staggering 497 cow deaths in just two months due to heat stress. Aquatic life hasn’t been spared either. In Telangana, mass fish deaths occurred as lake water temperatures became dangerously high. On land, the situation is equally dire. A horse carrying luggage collapsed and died in Lucknow, and many dogs are collapsing, with some even getting their heads stuck in bottles while desperately searching for water.
