Commerce State Minister Ahasanul Islam Titu has said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to India was 100% successful as Modi himself assured that India will support the Teesta water management project and assist in taking necessary steps. He said this in response to journalists’ questions on Saturday afternoon after a meeting aimed at improving the quality of healthcare services in the district, held at the hall room of Tangail Sheikh Hasina Medical College Hospital.
He said: “For the first time, we will bring hydropower from Nepal and Bhutan to Bangladesh through India. “Efforts are being made to improve the supply chain from production to consumer to control commodity prices. We are ensuring that there is no shortage in the supply of both domestic and imported goods,” he added.
The minister also said that the country’s communication system has undergone unprecedented development. The government will ensure the supply of necessary goods quickly due to the improved communication system.
Titu said: “To deliver products swiftly to consumers, we will utilize the railway. Discussions have been held with the railway department. “Products will be quickly transported from various parts of the country to Dhaka. Swift measures are being taken in this regard,” he added. Among others, Deputy Minister of Education Shamsun Nahar, Member of Parliament for Tangail-4 Latif Siddiqui, local Member of Parliament Sanowar Hossain, and Administrator Kaisarul Islam also spoke on the occasion. Hospital officials, doctors, upazila executive officers, and public representatives were present at the event.
