On the lines of Dubai and Sydney, an international-standard fish market and Koli Bhavan will come up in the Marol area of Mumbai.

“The international fish market will provide more facilities to fishermen and will boost the fishing industry. This project will be important in making the traditional business of the fishermen in the Marol area more modern and competitive in the global market,” state Fisheries and Ports Minister Nitesh Rane said on Wednesday.

During the review meeting of the project, BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation’s Commissioner and Administrator Bhushan Gagrani, Fisheries Department’s Secretary Ramaswamy N, Fisheries Commissioner Kishore Tawde and Fisheries Corporation General

Manager Ankita Meshram were present.
“The Koli Bhavan and the international-standard fish market would be world-class projects,” he said.
