Manoa Kamikamica, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises and Communications of the Republic of Fiji, said that the main issue he hopes to see resolved during the WTO’s 13th Ministerial Conference (MC13) in Abu Dhabi is the Fisheries Subsidies Agreement.

The outcomes of the global event, including the Fisheries Subsidies Agreement, would support Fiji and the Pacific region to ensure the sustainability of their fish stocks, and the creation of a private sector of the fisheries sector, Manoa told the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on Day 1 of MC13.

He said that the UAE is a world leader and a role model in international trade, providing MC13 participants with insights on how to boost foreign trade in their countries. Manoa also highlighted the forum as an ideal platform to seek out business opportunities and attract investors from the UAE.
