Speaking during preliminary arrangements for the signing of the fisheries agreement between Sierra Leone and Russia, Sierra Leone’s Ambassador, Mr. John Sahr Yambasu has confirmed arrangements for the signing of the agreement in Moscow, Russia in June/July 2013. At the plenary meeting, Ambassador Yambasu observed that the fisheries agreement aims at strengthening friendly relations and cooperation between Sierra Leone and Russia in the field of presentation, management and efficient utilization of Sierra Leone’s living marine resources.
The Ambassador pointed out that the agreement will provide a window of opportunities for the exchange of information of mutual interest regarding the development of the fisheries industry in Sierra Leone.Ambassador Yambasu said that the new agreement will highlight the development of aquaculture, education and further training of personnel for the fishing industry, exchange of experts to the sharing of technical experience in Sierra Leone.
