Thousands of dead Bluebottle Jellyfish are seen near Puri, Chandrabhaga and Astarang coasts. A senior research fellow of Puri regional office of Central Marine Research Institute said that thousands of dead Bluebottle Jellyfish might be dying due to climate change. Lack of food and environmental change may be the reason behind the death of this species, a local resident of Astarang said. Additional Marine Fisheries Officer said that his department has asked the people not to touch the dead jellyfish. Earlier, before two months, as many as 300 olive ridley sea turtles and a bottlenose dolphin were found dead on Puri Beach.
