During the first quarter of the financial year 2017-18 from July to September, there is an upward trend in Fish exports from the country, fish exports increased by 17.64 percent during this period as compared to the corresponding period of the last fiscal year 2016-17. According to the statistics from Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) fish and fish preparation worth $75,370 exported during the first quarter as compared to the previous period which worth $64,066. Besides fish and fish preparation, the exports of food items were also increased, food items worth $140,229 were exported from the country during the first quarter as compared to the corresponding period of last year which worth $132,217. All food items exports of the country increased by 6.11 percent during the first quarter. However, meat and meat preparation saw a decline in exports, the items worth $44,791 were exported during the first quarter as compared to the previous period of last year which was recorded at $52,795. Overall, meat and meat preparation exports were decreased by 15.16 percent during the first quarter.
