Pakistan has officially accepted the World Trade Organization (WTO) Fisheries Subsidy Agreement, with support from the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), becoming the 94th country to do so.
The agreement grants Pakistan access to resources from the Fisheries Fund, aiding efforts to curb illegal fishing practices while promoting the sustainable management of marine resources. It will also help align fishing activities with international standards, enhancing the global market value of Pakistani seafood products.
Additionally, the agreement will provide Pakistan’s fishing industry with modern technical support and financial assistance, fostering long-term growth and sustainability in the sector.
