The Ministry of Production (Produce) has issued a call for tender for 3,123.05 cubic meter carrying or storage capacity of tropical tuna in the Peruvian sea.
This amount is part of the 5,000 cubic meter total quota granted by the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC) to Peru.
For the first and second stage of the auction, the base price per cubic meter is USD 80 payable annually.
The term of the right of access to the resource is 12 years.
The auction will take place in two stages:
During the first phase, a storage capacity of 3,123.05 cubic meters will be tendered;
The second stage will only take place if there is a remaining storage capacity unallocated after the previous phase.
The interested parties should buy the specifications containing the basis for participation in the tender process. This instance includes a basis and contract draft consultation phase.
Later on, concerned stakeholders must submit their technical and financial proposals in Spanish language.
Participants must not have unpaid debts with Produce in enforced collection processes. This obligation must be verified until the signing of the contract granting the right of exploitation of tuna resources.
Failure to comply with this requirement will result in disqualification in the process, Produce warns.
