Shrimp fishing season will start on the 1st of September in the Governorate of Al Wusta. The wilayats of Mahut, A’Duqm and Al Jazir are famous for shrimp abundance and attract many fishermen until the end of November.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, represented by its departments at the Governorate of Al Wusta, has completed all the preparations for this season, including administrative and technical procedures, guidance and awareness efforts, regulatory and statistical related work during the shrimp fishing season from various aspects. The regulatory side is considered as the most important aspect within the Ministry’s preparations, through the application of the Fisheries Law and its regulations for the sustainability of this wealth on the coasts of the Governorate of Al Wusta and other nearby governorates.
The Ministry will carry out various activities, including seminars and lectures to sensitize the fishermen of the importance of compliance with the Fisheries Law and its regulations and comply with the allowed fishing tools and equipment.
