Joint Opposition MP Bandula Gunawardena charges that due to the reduction of taxes on imported canned fish through 2018 Budget, the local canned fish industry would be affected. He raised this issue in Parliament today (14) posing a question seeking an oral answer. In response, the Minister of Fisheries, Mahinda Amaraweera said over the past few years, taxes on imported canned fish was increased many occasions.
