The 27 Tamil Nadu fishermen who were arrested while poaching in Lankan waters and released on bail were handed over to the Indian Coast Guard by Navy on Friday (28), Navy media said.
The fishermen were repatriated along with their four fishing trawlers to Indian Coast Guard ship Rani Abbakka at the International Maritime Boundary Line off Point Pedro by Navy vessels attached to the Eastern Naval Command.
The Indian fishermen who were arrested on Sunday(23) were produced before Trincomalee Additional Magistrate S.Sathishtharan on Tuesday (25) and released on a personal surety bail of Rs. 100,000 each.
