Sri Lanka Navy on has come to render assistance to four distressed Indian fishermen in a fishing trawler drifting in the Sri Lankan waters due to engine failure. Naval personnel onboard P 417 and P474 Fast Attack Craft belonging to the Western Naval Command managed to rescue the four Indian fishermen in distress and their fishing boat which was down with an engine failure and drifting in the Western seas of Sri Lanka yesterday (08). The Navy towed the boat along with the fishermen to the Dikowita Fisheries Harbour and provided the fishermen with food and necessary first aid. The Navy said steps were taken immediately to repair the malfunctioned engine. The fishermen are scheduled to be taken and released at the International Maritime Boundary Line today (9).
