The National Disaster Management Authority on Wednesday issued a warning advising fishermen in south Tamil Nadu and south Kerala not to venture into sea for next 48 hours. The fishermen on Lakshadweep Islands are also asked not to venture into sea on December 1 and 2. The NDMA said that sea conditions would be rough to very rough along and off South Tamil Nadu and South Kerala during the next 48 hours and over Lakshadweep Islands and adjoining sea areas on December 1 and 2. Earlier this months, heavy rains were witnessed in several parts of Chennai and nearby districts with areas being water-logged. At least 12 people reportedly died in rain related incidents across Tamil Nadu. Thousands of houses were inundated in torrential rains forcing people to stay in relief camps.
