Two missing crew members of the cargo ship Gia Bao 19, which sank on 17 December in the waters off Chan May Cape, Thua Thien Hue province in Vietnam, were successfully located and rescued after several hours adrift at sea.
According to local news, the cargo ship encountered trouble in the morning of December 17th due to strong waves, leading to water flooding into the cargo compartment. A distress signal prompted the authorities to coordinate rescue efforts. The nearby ship Haian Park swiftly responded, rescuing seven crew members, while the remaining two were reported missing.
On the afternoon of December 17, local authorities confirmed the missing crew members’ discovery by a fishing boat in Quang Nam province.
The subsequent discovery by the fishing boat ensured the successful rescue of all nine crew members from the sinking of Gia Bao 19.
