The Coast Guard has suspended its search for two fishermen who went missing off the coast of Maine.

The Maine Marine Patrol says Chester Barrett, a commercial fisherman, and his son Aaron Barrett were reported missing on Saturday evening by a family member. The two were on board Chester Barrett’s boat “Sudden Impact.”

The Coast Guard Sector Northern New England says they received a report around 5 p.m. on Saturday concerning the two fishermen aboard a 34-foot scallop vessel that had become unreachable and had not returned to their mooring in South Addison.

The vessel had departed from Cobscook Bay State Park around 5 a.m. on Saturday.
