The FAO Strategic Framework 2022-2031 seeks to support the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through the transformation to more efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agrifood systems for better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life, leaving no one behind. Under better production, the ‘Blue Transformation’ Programme Priority Area provides a vision for FAO’s work on aquatic food systems for the period 2022–2030.
The roadmap for Blue Transformation recognizes the importance of aquatic food systems as drivers of employment, economic growth, social development and environmental recovery, all contributors to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This working document provides an update on the efforts made by FAO towards implementing the Blue Transformation roadmap, and a progress report on the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries (CCRF) Aquaculture Questionnaire.
