The Canoe and Fishing Gear Owners Association of Ghana and the partners of the MarCNoWA Consortium under the GMES and Africa Project have produced safety at sea videos for community sensitization. GMES and Africa Project provide ocean state information that is made available via an App (GMES-UG) and USSD Code (*920*88#).
CaFGOAG continue to create awareness and facilitate the dissemination of the ocean state information. Selected canoe owners have been trained to interpret and translate Coastline and Maritime Weather Warning which is shared on four Regional WhatsApp platforms of fishers of the four coastal regions of Ghana.
The production of these videos will boost the awareness creation.
