Conference Name:Consultative Meeting on Livelihood Issues of Inland Small Scale Fish Workers 10th July 2018, Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi, India organized by National Platform for Small-scale Fishworkers (Inland),India

Date: 10-07-2018

Abstract: When we discuss inland fisheries and livelihoods we are not talking about a mono-sector. We are talking about thousands of people involved in fishing and thousands of people involved in farming. These practices can negatively affect each other too, by the introduction of invasive species and diseases, competition for limited water resources, pollution, and change in access to traditional fishing grounds. The equity of access to fishing grounds is important to fishing dependent households. They would also require facilitating organisational support for the smoking, drying and selling of fish, etc.
