This paper concentrates only on the problem of the over-fishing of the stocks of commercial fish species. The Lake Victoria fisheries are among the world’s most important inland fisheries.The findings presented here are initial results of an ongoing exploration of fisheries management situation in the Tanzanian portion of lake. It should be viewed as a report of research in progress.
